TECH TIP: Microphone Boom

When you want to get your microphone close to the actors use a microphone mounted on the end of an aluminum window washing pole. The pole which extends from 4 feet to 8 feet weighs in at just over a pound and the microphone and extension cable are attached to the pole using Velcro ties from Staples.

We use a Propole Model 3208 available from Lowes and Home Depot. Pole, $28 and a pack of Velcro ties $5.
