FESTIVAL MANAGERS' PET HATES

We checked in with some film festival organizers and asked what bugged them most about entries coming in.

Free Loaders who want their entry fee waived. 3 minute miniDV film transferred to low band VHS. DVD with full-screen moving menu so you don't know if the film has started or not. MiniDV tape in yards of bubble wrap, in a box, in a jiffy bag. DVD just in the plastic or paper case with addresses glued on. Tape blacking done with a microphone left open: Interesting row with partner ! Tape cassette front flap closed tight with sticky tape ! Tape starts with 30 seconds of an old Letterman show. Tape with virtually no leader. Tapes & DVDs which do not play on modern standard equipment. Tapes & DVDs which are completely blank.
